China GDC provides services to clients worldwide across the locations of Shanghai, Dalian, Shenzhen, Chengdu, and Wuhan and on the client sites. All the Global Delivery Centers located around the world comply with IBM’s global practices, processes and methodologies.

In 2009, China GDC has successfully attained both ISO 20000 and ISO 27001 certifications. The ISO certification is another important milestone in the company’s continuous quality improvement efforts following its accreditation of Capability Maturity Model® Integration Maturity Level 5 (CMMI 5) Version 1.2 by the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) in 2008. With the latest and highest international standard institutionalized across China Global Delivery’s sites, IBM continues its leadership in quality control in China’s application services outsourcing market.

System Management Specialist: z/VM - English/Japanese
China - Shenzhen
Responsibilities:
With support and instructions by SZ and Japan SE team, carry out the following work items.
  • Apply PTF on z/VM platform.
  • REXX exec maintenance.
  • Performance Report.
  • GCS/RSCS parameter change.
  • Change management support (Submit TSRM Tickets, fill in check sheet, attend technical revue, etc).
  • Change activities with procedures.
  • (Add/del CP privilege class, FCP definition, Change SYSTEM CONFIG, DSR, etc).
  • Add z/Linux User (include definitions change).
  • VM system check (after H/W mentenance or other team change) and IPL z/Linux guests.
  • Meeting facilitator or note-taker.
  • Attend meeting.

Requirements:
1. Technical Skills:
  • 2-3 years experience with z/VM or Linux ( Red Hat, SUSE , etc).
  • Experience in supporting a large enterprise client in a process driven environment.
  • In depth knowledge of Linux Operating System.
  • Overview of Systems Operation (Including Client -Server).
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP.
  • Knowledge of enterprise storage concepts.
  • Ability to write/debug shell scripts.
  • Basic computer literacy including exposure to Office tools.
2. Non-Technical Skills:
  • Japanese level 1 or fluent English communication skill with strong z/VM skills.
  • Demonstrated positive attitude.
  • Ability to quickly assimilate technical and non-technical information.
  • Demonstrated excellent team working skills.
Qualifications
  • University degree, preferred Degree/Diplomas would include Information Technology; Engineering or Science.
  • Japanese level 1 or fluent English communication skill with strong z/VM skills.
Required
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 2 years experience in z/VM Platform Support
  • At least 2 years experience in Linux System Support
  • English: Intermediate
  • Japanese: Fluent
Preferred
  • Information Technology
  • At least 4 years experience in z/VM Platform Support
  • At least 4 years experience in Linux System Support
  • Certified in RHCE Certification
  • English : Fluent
