Project Coordinator (Refurbishment Project)


Center For International Forestry Reserch (CIFOR)
The Center for International Forestry Research advances human wellbeing, environmental conservation and equity by conducting research to inform policies and practices that affect forests in developing countries. We are one of 15 centres within the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR). Our headquarters are in Bogor, Indonesia, and we have offices in Asia, Africa and South America.
 
We are looking for a project coordinator to join our administration team at CIFOR. The role is temporary in nature and is
responsible for coordinating the project and responding by providing information, problem solving, or escalating the matter to the Director of Finance and Administration as appropriate.

Project Coordinator (Refurbishment Project)
Bogor (Jawa Barat)

Responsibilities:
  • Set up coordination meetings with design consultants, contractors and CIFOR Admin in the execution of renovation projects and maintain minutes of meetings
  • Conduct periodic checks on the implementation of the renovation project and ensure project timelines are being adhered to or raise concerns with the Director.
  • Coordinate movement of staff to wing areas and back to renovated offices – as per plans agreed with CIFOR Admin and the designers – and communicate clearly and regularly with staff
  • Create periodic reports for renovation (progress and final results) and inform CIFOR staff as required
  • Coordinate the renovation process for completion of the project according to schedule, quality and budget
  • Liaise with the design team to ensure the entire process of renovation/relocation is carried out according to the final design documents
  • Verify that quality (and quantity) of material being used is as per specifications provided by the design team.

Requirements:
Education, experience and technical skills :
  • Degree in related field (e.g. project management, civil engineering, architecture)
  • 5 years of work experience in a facilities management or project coordination capacity
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Experience and aptitude for accounting
 
Personal attributes and competencies :
  • Polished and professional with a friendly outlook
  • Ability to handle pressure

     

Terms and Conditions
  • The duty station is at CIFOR Headquarters in Bogor, Indonesia.
  • The successful candidate will be hired as a consultant under a limited contract for 8 months. The consultant will be expected to start by August 2012.
